Common causes
Dense paste, oversized hard pieces and an overfilled jar force the motor to work slowly at high load. Long uninterrupted operation adds heat faster than the housing can release it. Dust or a soft surface can also block base ventilation.
- Mixture is too thick to circulate
- Blade is jammed by a hard object
- Vent slots are blocked
- Coupler or bearing creates excess friction
Safe recovery
Switch off, unplug and let the unit cool completely. Remove some ingredients and add liquid only if the recipe permits. Check that the blade turns freely by following the manual—never touch sharp edges directly.
If an overload protector has tripped, use the documented reset method. Repeated trips mean the load, blade assembly or motor needs attention.
Prevent a repeat
Cut ingredients smaller, use Pulse to establish movement and respect the model’s rest interval. Place the base on a dry, hard, level surface with clear airflow. Never cover the machine while operating.
When to seek service
Do not restart a machine that smoked, sparked, leaked into the base or produces a burning smell after cooling. Warranty coverage varies by component, so bring the invoice and exact model number to an authorised service point.
