Clean immediately
Unplug and remove the jar. Rinse loose residue, then add warm water and a small drop of dishwashing liquid. If the manual allows, run a short low-speed cleaning cycle, empty and rinse thoroughly.
Never immerse the motor base. Wipe it with a barely damp cloth and dry it immediately.
Remove stubborn odour
Wash the lid, gasket and jar separately because oily spice residue hides in seams. A paste of baking soda and water can help on compatible surfaces; test a small area and avoid abrasive scrubbing on transparent plastic.
- Air-dry parts separately before reassembly
- Keep a dedicated dry-spice jar when possible
- Do not use boiling water on plastic or sealed blade units
- Follow the manual before placing any part in a dishwasher
Handle blades safely
Use a brush rather than fingers around the blade. If the blade unit is removable, hold only the designed grip surfaces. Replace cracked gaskets instead of overtightening a leaking assembly.
Prevent cloudy jars
Mineral deposits and fine scratches make jars look cloudy. Avoid metal scrubbers, rinse mineral residue promptly and do not grind dry abrasive ingredients in a jar that is not designed for them.
